Established in 1991, Khemara was the very first local Non-Government Organisation (NGO) in Cambodia. Since our inception, we’ve played a significant role in working for the advancement of local women and children in Cambodia by working directly with vulnerable communities. We are strongly committed to making active contributions to focus groups and national committees who tackle issues we strongly believe in.
Our commitment is reflected in our membership to the following national committees: the HIV/AIDS Coordination Committee; the NGO Committee on Rights of a Child; the NGO Forum; the Cooperation Committee for Cambodia; End Child Prostitution, Abuse and Trafficking in Cambodia; the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women; and the Gender and Development Network Cambodia.
“Being able to help, care and support the thousands of children, women and disadvantaged is the reason why I am here. With love and consideration, we will improve the quality of many lives.” Phallany Koy, Chief Executive
“At The Global Fund for Children, we envision a world where all children grow up to be productive, caring citizens of a global society. Khemara’s commitment, experience and energy is similar to ours so we are delighted to be supporting the childcare centre on Koh Dach Island.“ Global Fund for Children
“Khemara is working with the communities to grow a sustainable future for rural Cambodians.” H.E. Prak Chanthoeurn, Chairman
